Q: What is Viewsbank?

A:
Viewsbank is an online community where you can exchange opinions and stories on the topics that matter to you. We are all united by a shared purpose: to get our voices heard. Essentially, Viewsbank is a social forum where you get paid to complete surveys, projects and Mystery Shopping assignments on a range of subjects and industries. In addition to your regular paid work, you can create and vote on Polls, or join the Viewsbank conversation in community Groups. The Viewsbank panel and website is owned and operated by Consumer Intelligence – an independent research company that has been providing customer and competitor insight since 2003. The Consumer Intelligence name can be seen every day on TV – with many household brands names using our research. In addition to large commercial organisations, The Office of National Statistics uses our data when compiling the Retail Price Index for the UK Government. If they trust us, you can too. Consumer Intelligence complies with the Data Protection Act 2018 under registration number Z8560778 and is audited by the Direct Marketing Association.

Q: How Does Viewsbank work?

A:
Basically: you sign up and agree to let us use any details that you knowingly consent to share with us in order to do our research. We will never use your information without asking you first.

If you agree to let us use your details, not only will we be able to perform research on a national level, we will also be able to assign you paid projects and assignments that will be both interesting and relevant to you, on a personal level.

Once you've got an account, you'll be able to use our Assignments page to complete paid surveys, mystery shopping projects and any other research that we think could be relevant to you.

Heads up though! The majority of our projects have a limited sample size, meaning that people will be assigned surveys on a first come, first served basis. If you don't complete a project that you've been assigned, it might time out and be taken by someone else. For this reason, it's very important to check back regularly.

Finally, Viewsbank is also a social website, in a manner of speaking.

You can choose to create and vote on polls, or join a Group to debate and discuss issues that are of interest to you. If you create a poll which trends (ie a poll which is the most popular poll on the website over a three day period) you will receive £10. If a poll you voted on goes on to trend, you'll receive 1p.

Q: How Do I Sign Up?

A:
If you'd like to sign up for an account with Viewsbank, click "Register", here. This will take you to a page where you will be asked to give us your name and email address. We will also ask you to pick a username for you to use whilst you are on the website, for reasons of personal security.

Once you've filled in the form and clicked "Sign Up", you will receive a confirmation email from us.

You must click on the link that you receive in your confirmation email in order to activate your account.

If you believe that you have not received this email, please check your Junk or Spam folder, and mark: Sam.Jenkins@viewsbankhelpdesk.raiseaticket.com as a 'Safe Sender'. If a question pops up in the email asking whether you trust this sender, please click 'Yes' or 'Always Trust This Sender'.

As part of the sign up process, you'll be guided through an initial profile survey. Please take this short survey, as it will allow us to notify you of earning opportunities that are relevant to you personally.

After this first profile survey, you will receive additional profiling surveys, which are intended again to gain a little more detail about you, so that we can match you to projects which will be interesting and appropriate. Depending on your profile, you will receive between 2 and 4 profile surveys in total.

If you do not receive these surveys, please contact us.

Q: Rewards and Getting Paid

A:
Rewards on Viewsbank come in a variety of forms. Whenever you decide to take an assignment or survey, you will be clearly told which kind of reward you will be getting for your time, and how much it is worth. Most frequently, you will receive cash, which is credited to your account. You may also be entered or choose to enter into prize draws and cash prize draws.

Surveys are primarily rewarded through direct payment or prize draws. Mystery Shopping and work at home projects are normally another case of direct payment. Other earning opportunities, including creating a trending poll, receive cash prizes.

You can see what you've earned on your "Account" page, as well as details of completed assignments, payments and cash prizes that have been allocated to you. It may take up to 24 hours for this information to be updated after you have completed an assignment, so please do not worry if it does not show up immediately.

If your Account page has still not updated with details of an assignment you have completed after 24 hours, please contact us, and we will address the issue.

Payments are calculated on the last day of each month. There is a threshold of £12 in your Viewsbank account balance that must be reached in order for you to receive cash payment. Any earnings accrued during a month are paid on the second Tuesday of the following month, provided that the threshold has been reached. Any earnings below the threshold amount will be carried over to the following month. You will only be paid for earnings that have accrued during the previous calendar month. Any earnings accrued after the end of the month but before pay day will be paid the following month, again provided you are over the £12 threshold. Please noteyYour account payment history will show a pending payment the Friday before payday and your account balance reduced to reflect this.

Payments are transferred from us to your PayPal account. This is because it is one of the safest, fastest, and most secure ways to pay online. Your financial details are never shared with us. You will receive a PayPal email alert notifying you when a deposit has been made to your account.

If you do not currently have a PayPal account, we would encourage you to sign up for one so that we can pay you. It is a fast and easy process which only takes a few minutes. If you'd like to sign up for a Paypal account, you can do so here.

Please Note: Your email address must be the same as your PayPal account email address that we can pay you. If the information that you provide us is incorrect, or if your PayPal account is blocked or not activated, the payment will bounce back to us.

You can edit your email address from the home page once you log in. You will need to go to the "Account" page, then edit your email address in the email address field and click "save account".

Q: I Need Help With My Profile!

A:
We ask you, please, to keep your account details current and up to date. This is both so that we can pay you, and so that we can perform our research, if you choose to allow us to use your information.

If at any point you need or would like to change the details that you have given us, you can do by going to your "Account" page and editing any of your information in the fields provided once done please click " Save account" to save all changes . Here you will see a form which has your Username, E-mail address, Password, Contact Settings and Picture, ie the icon that appears next to your name on the website. You can edit any of these at any time. Please click "Save account" once you're finished so that our systems records the changes that you have made.

If you change your email address, please remember that it will need to be linked to a working PayPal account in order for you to receive our payments.

If you've forgotten your password, you can request a new one by clicking "Request New Password" on the Login page. An email will be sent to the address that you used to sign up. This email will contain a link that will allow you to login without a password. It is a one time login, and for security reasons the link will expire 24 hours after its arrival. If you have not clicked the link after 24 hours, you will need to request a new one.

Once you've logged in using this link, you can go to the "Account" page and then to "Edit", where you can select a new password. Please click "Save account" once you've made the changes that you need to make. After this, you will be able to login again normally.

Q: Is My Information Secure?

A:
As stated above, Viewsbank's parent company, Consumer Intelligence, is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 (No. Z8560778). It is audited on an annual basis by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA).

Any personal information provided by you is retained in a secure environment by Consumer Intelligence, and will never be used for any marketing purposes by ourselves or our clients. (We will only contact you regarding your profile, payments, and survey opportunities.)

When you undertake research assignments, the information that you provide goes to our clients in an aggregated format so that you are not personally identifiable. If there is any variance to this, then it will be stated clearly in the assignment brief. We will only use your information when your permission to release has been given.

If you are concerned about the security of your information, we strongly recommend that you carefully read our Terms and Conditions. Please focus in particular on sections 9, 11 to 15, and, if you have agreed to take part in our Unique Quote Research Project, section 16.

Q: What Is The Unique Quote Research Project?

A:
The Unique Quote Research Project is a core part of Viewsbank’s work in market research. Members are explicitly invited to take part in this scheme, which uses elements of your personal information in order to gather insurance quotes. All reasonable measures will be taken to prevent a member from being contacted for unsolicited marketing or by any third parties as a result of this process. All reasonable measures will be taken to ensure that every member’s personal information is protected and secure.

Every single time we would like to use your data, we will email you and give you the option to opt out. If you agree to let us use your data we will give you a £5 cash reward. You can read more about our Unique Quote Research Project here, and in section 17 of our Terms and Conditions.

Q: What Rules Are There For Assignments?

A:
In order to ensure that Viewsbank is a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all of our users, and also to protect the integrity of our research, we ask that members follow certain rules and codes of conduct when they sign up to the website.

These rules are outlined in our Terms and Conditions, in particular in sections 3 and 6 of that document, and you are encouraged to re-read this if at any point you are uncertain about how to behave on the website.

When it comes to Assignments, Viewsbank members are invited to take part on an invitation-only basis. For each assignment, we have a quota to fill, and this quota is filled on a first come, first served basis. So for example, if we need 100 people to complete a Mystery Shopping project, we might invite 200, of whom the first 100 to respond will be given the assignment. For this reason, we ask that you check back in to your Assignments page regularly.

When it comes to completing an Assignment, you will be informed of the average length of time that the project will take to complete, and of by how much you will be rewarded for it. We calculate our rewards according to industry standards, and believe that they are quite competitive when measured against other panels, on a cash for time basis.

Our compliance team checks all surveys and research projects to ensure their validity and quality. If members provide inaccurate, inconsistent, incoherent or otherwise suspect information, then Viewsbank will apply a ‘two strikes’ rule. You will receive a warning for your first offence. For the second, you will receive payment for the project on which you are working, or any work completed previously, and you will be removed from the Viewsbank panel. You will have 48 hours to appeal this decision with a satisfactory explanation.

We take our work seriously, and we ask that you do, too.

Q: What Are The Poll Rules?

A:
Regarding Polls, there are several things that we ask Viewsbank members do in order to both maintain the standard of content posted on the website, and a welcoming, respectful environment for all website members and visitors.

The Poll Rules are as follows:

  1. Do check your poll for spelling errors, factual errors or grammatical mistakes before you post it.
  2. Do limit the number of words in your question to twenty-five (25) or less.
  3. Do limit the number of words in your answers to ten (10) or less.
  4. Do not use all capitals in your questions or your answers. It is not necessary, and can be considered aggressive.
  5. Please aim to use good written English at all times.
  6. Do not use language which is offensive or defamatory. Swear words, slurs, explicit or adult language and abusive discrimination are forbidden.
  7. Do not target specific individuals, groups, or website users in a manner that could be conceived of as aggressive, threatening, or offensive.
  8. Do not copy polls created by other users. Whilst similarities in format may be difficult to avoid, direct and conscious imitation is forbidden.
  9. Do not repeat your own polls. Do not re-post a poll that you have already created in order to try and get more votes. This obstructs the experience of every website user, and will not help.
  10. Do not create polls to complain about Viewsbank. If you have a problem with the website or your experience here, please contact us directly.

Q: How Do I Get In Touch If I Have A Complaint Or Concern?

A:
If you are concerned at any point: about the use of your information, or the behaviour of other members, we would encourage you first to contact us directly. We are happy to answer any and all questions that you might have to the best of our ability, and you can request that we stop using your information at any point.

If you have a complaint: about website functionality, or about another member’s behaviour (offensive comments, duplicate polls, etc) then we ask you please to take a screenshot, and copy a link to the page on which you are having trouble. This allows us to find and resolve the situation much more quickly. Especially in the instance of offensive behaviour, we will need you to provide evidence, such as a screenshot, in order to move forwards.

We would ask please that you email us, instead of calling. Viewsbank does not have an active phone operation team, and if you email us, then we are able to keep track of your concerns much more easily. It means that there is a virtual paper trail, and it reduces room for both error and miscommunication.

You can email us by contacting: Sam.Jenkins@viewsbankhelpdesk.raiseaticket.com.
